Nica Style Challenge: Irena D World and the Jenifer Grab

We love challenging some of our favourite bloggers to a #NicaHandbags’ style challenge, and this week we asked the lovely blogger behind the Irena D World blog to show us how she’d style up our Jenifer grab in dusky pink.

Here’s a few of our favourite outfits from her challenge, and we’d love to hear which your favourites are too. Simply drop us a comment at the end of this post.

This outfit caught our eye thanks to the beautiful printed trousers which Irena clashed our Jenifer with. Don’t you agree that the print almost emulates the pretty laser cutting of our bag? Irena’s also opted to accessorise the bag with a furry pom pom too which infuses its feminine style with a fun edge. Very Nica!

Irena’s next outfit complements our bag with a flirty skirt, yet her leather contrast coat infuses the look with just the right amount of edge. It proves that although the bag has quite a girly aesthetic, it can easily be balanced when teamed with the right ensemble.

It’s the perfect Saturday night outfit! The Jenifer is a great alternative to your usual party night clutch too as it’s equally as stylish as it is roomy, which means you can store all of your beauty needs and some.

Her last outfit is made for the weekend, as the Jenifer grab ties in perfectly with more of a relaxed vibe. Sitting alongside a pair of relaxed jeans and a smart casual knit, it’s an easy look to accessorise if you so wish. Irena opts for cool beads and an edgy statement ring.

Feeling inspired by Irena’s outfits? Show us your own Nica style by tagging us in your photos with #NicaHandbags across our social channels. We’d love to see and we always reshare our favourite looks. So, what are you waiting for? Get tagging!

Easter Bank Holiday Ideas

The long Easter bank holiday break is just a few weeks away and if you’re looking to do more than simply sit at home eating chocolate until you hate yourself, then read on for some fun inspiration on spending your long weekend.

Chocolate Tours

Before you finish your day slumped in a chocolate coma, why not get yourself a choccy education by evoking upon a tour dedicated to the sweet stuff? There are plenty to be found all around the country after doing an easy Google search but of course hotspots like London are renowned for theirs.

Turn to TourGuides UK, and head on over to London’s luxurious Mayfair district where you’ll be guided around some of the finest Chocolatiers available. You’ll not only learn about how your favourites are produced but also get the chance to sample one or ten too!

Chocolate Making Classes

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a Chocolatier, then hunt down a chocolate making class and see if you’ve got what it takes… Or for the less ambitious amongst us, it also makes for a fun afternoon out!

Virgin Experience Days boast a great range from organic to luxury classes which includes whipping up chocolate Martini cocktails and sampling some of the finest chocolates from around the world.

Egg Hunting

If you’re looking for a fun way to entertain the kids this Easter, or appease your inner child perhaps, then look no further than an Easter egg scavenger hunt. Borde Hill gardens for example are releasing a series of clues for you to solve with the overall prize being a chocolately treat!

It’s fun and all of the running around might help you to burn off a few pounds meaning you can fill up on double the chocolate later.

#NicaTravels: Nica Kim Heads to Paris Fashion Week

I think that Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and there’s no more of an exciting place to be than in the city of lights during Paris Fashion Week. So, that’s exactly where I headed to soak up the culture and derive a little design inspiration.

You can’t visit the French capital without hitting its shops where there’s something for everybody’s tastes. I did what every tourist does and strolled along the Champs Élyséé, then headed over to one of my favourite department stores, the iconic Galeries Lafayette.

It’s not just its luxurious offerings and inspiring visual merchandising that I love but its magnificent building also. The attention to detail in its decoration is breath-taking and it’s almost worth a visit just to see that. Plus, you need to check out its roof top café where you grab lunch whilst soaking up the beautiful Parisian landscape.

Paris is filled with famous sites and on a clear day it’s lovely to just wander along the Seine going from one to the next. You can’t visit Paris without taking an Eiffel tower selfie, and a must visit for me is the beautiful Sacre Coeur cathedral overlooking Paris which is perfect for taking a few photos.

Have you ever visited the love lock bridge? It’s a very cute tradition whereby lovers attach a lock onto the bridge with their names doodled upon and throw the keys into the river. It’s become quite the tourist attraction over the years which has resulted in so many locks being attached to its walls that some have even collapsed and fallen in.

So, you can’t be in Paris during Fashion Week without heading to a catwalk show and I was lucky enough to attend a show at the Palais de Tokyo, an amazing location with fantastic views of the Seine and the Eiffel tower just outside.

Have you been keeping up with the Paris Fashion Week news? Which trend are you most looking forward to? Why not tweet us @Nica_Handbags and let me know.

Love,
Nica x

Transitional Spring Wardrobe Tips

Officially it’s spring but does it feel like it? We’re not too sure about that. At this time of the year, it’s tough deciding what to wear each morning as you never know what the weather is going to throw at you.

So, if you’re eager to bring your wardrobe into spring without freezing, follow our tips on incorporating some of the key trends into your outfits.

Colour Pops

The key to stylishly braving the in-between months is by layering up, and as soon as the weather starts warming up, you can peel off a few skins and still look chic. A scarf is a key accessory to have in your wardrobe if you’re wanting to try this out, and almost anything goes. Be bold and bright or opt for a printed piece, the possibilities are endless and all are great at infusing your outfit with a fun spring pop.

Floral Inspirations

If you’re up for taking a risk, then why not add some statement making jewellery to give your outfits a bit of edge. Whatever the weather, statement necklaces are a hot topic for any ensemble, hardly unusual but nonetheless compliment craving.

We know that florals for spring is hardly ground breaking news but it’s a trend that you just can’t escape every springtime, so a statement floral necklace is an investment piece for your wardrobe that’ll serve you year after year.

Nail Art

Come rain or shine, your nails always get free reign of the trends and nothing screams spring more than finishing your talons with a pastel splash. Pastel nails are a massive trend for this time of the year and make the perfect base for creating something a little more eye-catching too, simply layer up with multiply colours and refreshing jewels or gems.

How are you styling up your transitional wardrobes with a spring pop? We’d love to hear your tips, so why not drop us a comment below or tweet us @nica_handbags?
